For video and audio, please scroll page down DOM CHUNGAt just 24 Dom could almost be classed as a veteran judging by the standards he’s set so far in the DJing community. Being the youngest person to do a Radio One Guest Mix at only 18 years old, after he was personally asked by Seb Fontaine, Dom’s profile has soared through the roof since and he is now one of the brightest up and coming names in the club scene. Famed for his impeccable mixing and vast record collection (as well as enjoying the odd pint) Dom has built up a firm following over the years.Having firmly planted his feet right into the thick of it at Chibuku, being one of our longest serving residents he has proved time and time again that he knows how to rock the dance floor with his electronic house vibe where he is equally at home warming up the floor or smashing it late on. So far his reputation has acquired him sets playing alongside the likes of; Derrick Carter, Jeff Mills, Groove Armada, Green Velvet, Laurent Garnier…need I go on? OK….Justin Robertson, Felix Da Housecat etc etc, this is one DJ who is going places. Speaking of which, Dom certainly has had his choice of places to play at, as well as being Chibuku resident in Liverpool, he is currently programming a new night at The Key in London, where he is in charge of booking all their guests for their in-house night. He also concocts a monthly party at infamous London haunt ‘The Social’ which basically…in his words is… “A chance for all our mates to have a massive piss up together”. Dom previously ran the infamous ‘Hustle’ located at Magnet in Liverpool, a very successful House night with guest including David Duriez, Phil Weeks, Robert Owens, Swag and Harri & Dom Cappello from Sub Club and has played at various prestigious UK nights from The Arches in Glasgow, to Shine in Belfast, through to Fabric in London. Not only content doing the regular static DJ thang, Dom has also been known to float many a people’s boat by organising the legendary Boat Parties on The Mersey, which proved to be very successful. Dom’s blending of tunes has opened many a festival door, playing at both Homelands and Creamfields, as well as doing various gigs out in Ibiza. His hopes for the up and coming year will be to conquer the rest of the UK, to play more of Europe and add to his ever bulging repertoire, and the way he’s going who are we to disagree! |
